Metropolis - Stair accesses in the subway area Bonn Hauptbahnhof

Reverse glass print, subway entrances between the main station and the pedestrian zone Heike Weber and Walter Eul, 2022

The relatively narrow exits to the subway lines at Bonn main station have been expanded visually and illusionistically.

The "Bonner Loch" becomes a cathedral – a space of experience in everyday life.

These approaches are sensually and positively charged. In reference to the baroque history of Bonn, we refer to the ceiling paintings of that era, which visually dissolve the boundaries and open up the built space. Surreally constructed spaces superimpose the familiar spatial experience – the real, subterranean access is virtually built further into the seemingly infinite. In perspective, we lead physical space into the vastness.
